‘Anna’: Political Thriller Casts ‘House of Dragon’ Star Emma Darcy

The political thriller, Anna, added three more names to the cast. The ‘House of Dragon’ star Emma D’Arcy, ‘Industry’ star Harry Lawtey, and ‘The Serpent’ star Ellie Bamber.

James Strong directs the movie and Maxine Peake stars as journalist Anna Politkovskaya.
In the movie, Emma plays Anna’s daughter, Vera, while Lawtey plays Anna’s son Ilya. Ellie Bamber plays Elena, an intern/protégé of Anna.

Jason Isaacs will play Anna’s husband Sacha and the Oscar nominee Ciaran Hinds will portray her editor, Dmitry Muratov.

D’Arcy plays Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel ‘House of the Dragon.’
Ellie Bamber will star in Disney+’s upcoming Willow series, and Lawtey currently stars on HBO’s Industry.

‘Anna’, also known as ‘Mother Russia,’ tell the true history of Anna Politkovskaya, murdered in 2006. Politkovskaya was a journalist and human rights activist antagonist of Vladimir Putin and the Russian government.

Anna suffers several acts of intimidation and violence. She refused to give up reporting on the war in Chechnya. She was murdered in 2006 in the elevator of her block of flats.
In 2014, five men were convicted of her murder. The people who paid them to kill her don’t be arrested until now.

Miriam Segal and Paul Brennan Good Films Collective produces ‘Anna’ with financing and overseeing worldwide distribution of Luminosity Entertainment.
