Celebrities who hate social media are on the rise. There are famous people who have never signed up for any of the social networks and apparently do not intend to do so.
Celebrities always attract public attention, and many place great value on their personal life and try to keep it a secret. Well, they consider social media to be simply harmful in their own right.
Let’s meet some of these celebrities.
Benedict Cumberbatch said that social media is very toxic and could take up a lot of your personal time.
They could eventually even destroy his life. He prefers to spend his time doing his work as an actor.
Bradley Cooper is convinced that fans shouldn’t know the actor’s personal life so as not to transfer his personality to the character on screen.
He believes fans should simply enjoy the art of cinema. Cooper approached his choice philosophically.
Daniel Craig simply hates social media. He says that no one should care how the other spends the morning or the afternoon.
Instead, the actor advises people to simply go to a bar or call each other. When he’s asked in interviews about his social networks, he tells him he’s not on any, that he doesn’t see any sense in them.
“Woke up this morning, had an egg? What relevance is that to anyone? Social networking? Just call each other up and go to the pub and have a drink.”
Kate Winslet thinks that social media makes people make excessive demands on their appearance. Women are starting to have complexes about not having a perfect picture.
That’s why she is always boycotting the Internet.
Keanu Reeves and Renee Zellweger
Keanu Reeves is considered one of the most closed actors in Hollywood. He has never had a social media account, but fans are constantly creating fake profiles. In an interview in 2016 at the release of the movie “The Whole Truth” along with Renee Zellweger, he admitted that he simply had nothing to say to people. Renee is also opposed to social media and is very fond of her privacy.
Another actress who has never opened a social media account is Kristen Stewart. In an interview, she justifies saying: “When you speak to someone on the phone, that is a decipherable, understandable exchange. But with text and social media, it’s essentially a dialogue with yourself and your interpretation of a shadow. It’s not invalid; it’s a new language”.
Jennifer Aniston is busy living her healthy life and not on social media
She has good reason to remain that way. “There’s one school of thought, which is: ‘Why don’t you be on social media and show who you really are?’” says Aniston. “But I don’t need to. This is the one place I have that’s really protected and is mine and is what my life is without a camera rolling or paparazzi or media exposure.”
Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher
Mila Kunis says she doesn’t have any social network because she doesn’t know what to publish and what to say to her followers. Does anyone care about food photos or selfies?
Her husband Ashton Kutcher seems to have no problem sharing her thoughts with fans.
Scarlett Johansson finds it odd to share the details of her activities for the day. For her with social networks, her personal life is practically no longer protected, as anything can leak on the Internet.
Another celebrity who hates social media is Sandra Bullock. For her, everyone tries to create a perfect photo showing only the positive aspects and hiding the negatives. The actress calls this phenomenon “global Hollywood”. In an interview with The Times, she said: “We’re not representing our lives truthfully.”
Celebrities who hate social media, but some celebrities are even more extreme!
Winona Ryder does not use the internet. She says she has never read a website or blog. Johnny Depp doesn’t own a phone. In an interview, he said, “I just don’t like phones,” he said, “I just don’t like them … being reachable all the time.” Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have admitted on several occasions that they don’t know how to use a computer. And they depend on other people when they need to use it. Rachel McAdams doesn’t have a TV. “I listen to the news on the radio. I don’t have a television, and I am really bad at email,” she laughs. “[It was] only [recently] that I’ve heard about Twitter for the first time, and it’s all I’ve heard about since. I’m really ignorant.”
Celebrities who deleted their social networks
Emma Stone deleted her Twitter page after being hacked. Furthermore, the actress admitted that she was simply not prepared for people to comment on her looks and her lifestyle.
Keira Knightley also deleted her Twitter account, because that way she can feel normal again.
Ryan Gosling hasn’t written anything on Twitter for over three years. The actor is also disappointed with social media and is unlikely to appear there.
Celebrities secretly using social media
Jennifer Lawrence has stated in several interviews that she would not enter social media due to the harsh criticism she always receives about her personality.
But she admits that she created accounts under a fake name. Will we discover them?
Royal family members do not use social media. At least not publicly. We now know that during the beginning of the relationship between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the prince had a secret Instagram account to communicate with his future wife. Now away from royalty, maybe they’re thinking about getting more out of social media.
