‘Dead Boy Detectives’: Supernatural HBO Max’s Series Casts Lukas Gage

Ordered at HBO Max back in April, “Dead Boy Detectives” added “The White Lotus” star Lukas Gage in the cast.
The eight-episode series was based on the DC comics characters created by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner.
Along with Beth Schwartz, Steve Yockey wrote the pilot for “Dead Boy Detectives” and also serves as executive producer and co-showrunner.

The central characters, Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine were first introduced in The Sandman #25.
The ghosts of two dead boys, rather than entering the afterlife, stay on Earth to become detectives investigating supernatural crimes.
Cage will play Cat King, a charming trickster and itinerant cat spirit who takes a keen interest in Edwin.

The show cast has George Rexstrew (Edwin) and Jayden Revri (Charles) as leads. Also features Kassius Nelson, Briana Cuoco, Yuyu Kitamura, and Jenn Lyon.
Ruth Connell will reprise her Doom Patrol role of Night Nurse.

Read the official description of the series below.

“It’s a fresh take on a ghost story that explores loss, grief, and death through the lens of Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri), two dead British teenagers, and their very alive friend, Crystal Palace (Kassius Nelson). So, it’s a lot like a vintage detective series — only darker and on acid.”

For now, no release date has been set by HBO Max.
