Get Ready for the Most Thrilling Mission Yet: Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One

The “Mission: Impossible” franchise is one of the most popular and successful action and spy film franchises, having begun in 1996 with the movie directed by Brian De Palma and starring Tom Cruise as the secret agent Ethan Hunt. Since then, the series has had five more sequels, each with a different plot, but following the same timeline and main characters.

The new movie in the franchise, titled “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One,” is set to be released in July 2023. Promises to be another box office and critical success. The film is directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who also directed the two previous films, “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” (2015) and “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” (2018).

The most thrilling and intense of them all

What can we expect from this new chapter in the saga of Ethan Hunt and his team? According to Tom Cruise himself, who is also a producer of the film, the movie will be “the most thrilling and intense of them all.” In a promotional video released in December 2022, the actor is seen on top of a plane in flight. Performing one of the most impressive action scenes in the franchise. Cruise is known for avoiding stuntmen. He does the riskiest scenes himself. Which greatly increases the realism and adrenaline of movies.

In addition, the film will also bring back some beloved characters for fans, such as Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames), Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg), and Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson), as well as new faces like Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, and Shea Whigham. The villain of the film will once again be Solomon Lane (Sean Harris), who escaped from prison at the end of the previous film and is seeking revenge against Ethan Hunt.

Most Thrilling Mission: “Dead Reckoning”

The title “Dead Reckoning” comes from a term used in the navy to define the dead reckoning of an object or vehicle at sea. “Dead reckoning means that you’re plotting a course based solely on your last known position. A metaphor not just for Ethan, but for several characters in the film,” explained director regarding the choice of expression.

McQuarrie revealed in March on his Instagram that Rolf Saxon will return in “Dead Reckoning”. The actor participated in the first film of the saga playing CIA analyst William Donloe. In the first adventure, Cruise’s character steals Donloe’s list. After the fiasco, ends up being sent by the CIA to work in Alaska as punishment. The return of this character should be important to link the plot of the new film to Ethan Hunt’s past. But it is still unclear whether the appearance will take place in the first or second part of “Dead Reckoning.”

For fans of the “Mission: Impossible” franchise or those who enjoy action and spy movies, this is a must-see release. The movie promises to bring spectacular scenes, surprising twists, and a lot of emotion. Don’t miss “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” in theaters in July 2023!
