‘House of the Dragon’: The Targaryen Kingdom 200 Years Before Game Of Thrones In The First Trailer

The “Game of Thrones” spinoff, ‘House of the Dragon’, released the first trailer, showing a new Iron Throne design.
In a Westeros 200 years before the original series, in contentious time when Targaryens ruled Westeros with Fire and Blood.

Matt Smith (Doctor Who) narrated the trailer, he will play the Targaryen prince and dragon rider Daemon Targaryen. Watch below.

Ryan J. Condal (USA Network’s “Colony” creator) and Game Of Thrones author George R. R. Martin, created the new spinoff. Miguel Sapochnik, one of the “Game Of Thrones” most beloved directors is serving as showrunner.

Besides Matt Smith, the cast has Emma D’Arcy (Rhaenyra Targaryen), Eve Best (Rhaenys Velaryon), Paddy Considine (Viserys Targaryen), Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower), David Horovitch (Grand Maester Mellos), Jefferson Hall (Lord Jason Lannister), Fabien Frankel (Criston Cole), Matthew Needham (Larys Strong), Bill Paterson (Lord Lyman Beesbury), Sonoya Mizuno (Mysaria), and Steve Toussaint (Lord Corlys Velaryon).

“House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’ and tells the story of House Targaryen.
Alicent Hightower, the daughter of Hand of the King Otto Hightower, is the most comely woman in the Seven Kingdoms. She was raised in the Red Keep, close to the king and his innermost circle, and possesses both a courtly grace and a keen political acumen.”

Says HBO, cautious with spoilers, about the series’ plot.

We will certainly be able to watch the first season of the 10-episode series on HBO or HBO Max sometime in 2022.
