At this moment, MGM has secured a deal for the feature film project with the studio buying the Scott Rosenberg.
Rosenberg will also serve as an executive producer. The Appian Way Company, DiCaprio’s company, and Jennifer Davisson will produce the film.

Rosenberg’s writing credits include “Gone in 60 Seconds”, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”, and its sequel, “Jumanji: The Next Level”.
While this, the MGM studio is hard investing in this awards season.
The studio releases on November 24, Ridley Scott’s “House of Gucci”, and on December 31, Joe Wright’s feature musical “Cyrano”.
Besides, on November 26, Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Licorice Pizza”, with a cameo by Leonardo’s father, George DiCaprio.

About Jim Jones history

“Jim Jones founded the Peoples Temple in Indianapolis in 1955 and, fully promoting Christian Socialism, rejected traditional Christianity while proclaiming that he was God. He built Jonestown in 1974 in Guyana and grew a following to live with him in this socialist paradise that was free from the oppression of the U.S. government.

The story from there only gets more insane as, after the U.S. government sent Representative Leo Ryan in November 1978 to the site due to reports of human rights abuse, Ryan and four other Jonestown defectors were gunned down by Jones’ followers. After that tragic event, Jones orchestrated a mass murder-suicide of his followers by drinking Flavor Acid laced with cyanide. This took the lives of 918 members which included 304 children.”

By Deadline.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s next work is the Adam McKay comedy “Don’t Look Up” to Netflix, with Jennifer Lawrence and Jonah Hill. He also stars next in Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” for Apple Originals Films.

‘Jim Jones’ might be one of the biggest challenges of Leonardo DiCaprio. Nominated for seven Oscars, Leo finally won Best Actor in 2016 for his role in The Revenant.
