Robert Eggers’ long-gestating project ‘Nosferatu’ is finally underway.
Second an exclusive report from Deadline, the adaptation of the classic horror film “Nosferatu” has added several new cast members.
Robert Eggers will write and direct the horror film. Bill Skarsgård will play the iconic vampire and Lily-Rose Depp as the young woman the vampire is obsessed with.
In the new reimagining, Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman (Depp) in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him.
The original first terrified audiences during its initial release in 1922. Was an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula novel. Despite attempts to suppress the film, Nosferatu remains one of the most iconic and influential horror films. It still receives critical acclaim due to its striking visuals and terrifying imagery.
However, copies of the film were quickly destroyed after a lawsuit from Stoker’s widow.
