RollerCoaster Tycoon is the first and perhaps best Theme Park simulator of all time. Launched in 1999, it soon conquered a legion of fans around the world.
For these more than 20 years, we know several versions of this sensational theme park simulator.
Some versions like RollerCoaster Tycoon World did not please the public and criticize it. But the RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum came very close to the success of the original game.
Following the same path as Roller Coaster Tycoon, other games were also successful.
Planet Coaster is one of those new games that simulate very well what it is like to create a good theme park.

Thrillville: Off the Rails – Theme park simulation video game developed by Frontier Developments and published by LucasArts.
The game allows the placing and deletion of attractions and buildings such as flat rides, food and drink stalls, bathrooms, games. Also contains various minigames to play both in the park. In the game’s “Party Play” mode, allowing the players to ride their own roller coasters inside each of the Thrillville theme parks.

The NoLimits 2 Roller Coaster Simulation allows the design of a roller coaster with the surrounding scenery. Track editing is based on adjacent bézier curves and allows nearly infinite design possibilities. Scenery objects can be placed in the editor, provided they are of the .3ds format. The software allows a number of popular roller coaster types to be designed, based on industrially engineered designs.
The “Simulator” allows the designed roller coaster to be viewed in full 3D, either riding the roller coaster-like a rider or watching it in a third-person perspective, from a fixed position, or behind the roller coaster train.

Planet Coaster is a construction and management simulation video game. The game allows players to build different theme park rides and roller-coasters. There are three different modes in the game, namely Sandbox, Challenge, and Career. In the career mode, players assume the role of a theme park manager and must complete tasks such as constructing unfinished roller coasters or hiring janitors. Players are tasked to construct their own theme park on an empty plot of land (Sandbox mode). The challenge mode is similar to the sandbox mode, but with added difficulty, as players need to take funds into the account.

Parkitect is a construction and management simulation video game developed and published by Texel Raptor. The game simulates amusement park management, similar to the RollerCoaster Tycoon series. The player must build rides, manage the park, and keep their guests happy. The player may hire staff to fulfill the needs of the park. Parkitect introduces several aspects that differentiate from the classic RollerCoaster Tycoon series including staff buildings, resource depots, and hidden staff-only areas. Furthermore, the game introduces a branching map system within its campaign mode.

Jurassic World Evolution (2018)

Jurassic World Evolution is a business simulation video game. Based on the 2015 film Jurassic World. Players construct a Jurassic World dinosaur theme park on Las Cinco Muertes Archipelago, a group of five islands also known as the “Five Deaths”. The game features more than 40 types of dinosaurs. Their genes can be modified to introduce new features. Players are given contracts to fulfill by three divisions, Science, Security, and Entertainment. A sandbox mode set on Isla Nublar, the setting of the film, can be unlocked.
