Sherlock Holmes 3: Paul Anderson, Peaky Blinders Star return

Sherlock Holmes 3 was first mentioned back shortly after the sequel’s successful release, and they quickly found a writer to pen the Sherlock Holmes 3 script. Warner Bros. Pictures finally set a release date for December 2020. While the film did experience another delay to December 2021, Sherlock Holmes 3 seems to finally be getting under way.

After being delayed for over a decade, a new report suggests Peaky Blinders‘ Paul Anderson may be reprising his role as Sebastian Moran for Skerlock 3. According to The Illuminerdi, Anderson is in talks to return as Moran — an ally of Professor James Moriarty  — in the latest installment of the popular mystery franchise. Anderson previously played the character in 2011’s Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. The former soldier and hitman will apparently play a minor role in the threequel.

The two leads, Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, have always been interested in returning and confident that the project would come to fruition. They are currently in negotiations for Sherlock Holmes 3, but are expected to reprise their roles.

Directed by Dexter Fletcher from a script by Chris Brancato, Sherlock Holmes 3 is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 22, 2021. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are expected to return as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson, respectively.
