Showtime canceled the series based on a story by Charlie MacLean and Ben Affleck, ‘City on a Hill.’
The cancellation comes a month after the series aired the last episode of its third season.
With favorable critical and audience reviews after the first season premiered in 2019, the renewal arrived 2 months later.
On July 31, 2022, the show premiered its third season with 8 episodes.
The cancellation of the show was quietly decided upon about one month ago. According to sources, the cancellation is not linked to David Nevins exiting his position as the head of Showtime.
Showtime’s crime drama follows an unlikely alliance between a corrupt venerated FBI veteran, Jackie Rohr (Kevin Bacon), and the ADA Decourcy Ward (Aldis Hodge).
They take on a case that changes the city’s entire criminal justice system.
