Tyler Gillett, co-director of the beloved horror franchise, stated on Instagram Monday night that the sequel ‘Scream 5’ is “picture locked,”.
This meaning that the film’s edit is now set as it goes into subsequent stages of post-production.
The final cut has been completed and is set to premiere on January 14, 2022.
In a similar post, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, the film’s other director, post that the score is also finished. He showed a closeup of some sheet music.
Neve Campbell back in Scream 5 to reprises her role as Sidney Prescott.
David Arquette as Dewey Riley and Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers is back too.
Roger L. Jackson once again is providing the voice of Ghostface.
Much about the film remains a mystery, but we do know that the filmmakers went to tremendous measures to keep its secrets hidden.
To avoid spoilers, different versions of the script were developed. We do know that it will not be a complete reboot.
